AREQUIPA/CHIVAY/CABANACONDE/LLAHUAR

The pick up from the hotels is from 02:45 to 03:20 hours, we leave Arequipa in the direction of the Colca canyon.

 

Arriving at Cruz del Cóndor at 10:00 hours approximately, where we’ll stop because at this point we have one of the most beautiful views of the canyon and from where we can see the impressive flight of the condor, we’ll continue the journey to the town of Cabanaconde and we’ll make a little stop and then start our walk to Llahuar, which will take us approximately five hours, Llahuar is a traditional town at 2100 meters above the sea level located on one of the sides of the canyon; during the whole tour we’ll be able to enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Colca Canyon as well as the Huaruro Waterfalls.

 

In the afternoon we can enjoy the thermal baths and if we want, to go fishing, to finally have dinner and overnight.

 

SECOND DAY

 

LLAHUAR / FURE / SANGALLE (OASIS)

After the breakfast we’ll begin the trek to Fure, we’ll pass through the small town of Llatica, and after four hours of walking we’llarrive at Fure (2800 m.a.s.l.) where we’ll have lunch, then we’ll go to Sangalle (the Oasis) appreciating the high Andean vegetation where we will be able to enjoy a refreshing swim in the pools of the place to finally dine and spend the night.

THIRD DAY

SANGALLE / CABANACONDE/ CRUZ DEL CONDOR / CHIVAY / AREQUIPA

We leave Sangalle at approximately 05:00 hours and ascend towards the town of Cabanaconde. The road is quite steep, so the ascent will take approximately three hours.

We’ll have breakfast in Cabanaconde. Then we’ll take the return transport to the town of Chivay, on the way we’ll make a stop at the Cruz del Cóndor to have another view of the canyon and some viewpoints to observe the landscape, platforms and mountains, also we’ll visit the thermal baths in the town of Yanque. After that we’ll have lunch in Chivay and return to the city of Arequipa at approximately 17:00 or 17:30 hours.
