The tour begins with the pick up in the hotels at 7 am to take the panamerican highway towards the Majes Valley, we´ll arrive here in 3 hours approximately, making a Little stop for rest and use of the hygienic services. After having arrived at the place we´ll start with the journey accompanied by our profesional guide. This area whose name alludes to the singular sahape of the mounts that remaind a recumbent bull, keeps for itself an unique jewel, the largest rock repository of the world. This area has 5 squared kilometers cover wuith  five thousand stones that were carved by travelers between the years 700 and 1500 after Christ.

 

We´ll walk tosee anthropomorphic figures such as the condor, foces, alpacas, big snakes and fishes, and many other draws of animals that are confused with geometric figures and carved dancers in stones that, despite the centuries, they seem to keep dancing.

 

Much is speculated about the motive of this draws. There are those who say they see figures of flying plates and extraterrestrials where averyone see suns and masked dancers.

Querulpa is the place where the footprints that measure approximately 60 cm wide and 10 meters deep can be seen. And presumably would be Plintosaurios, huge animals weighing between 8 and 10 tons. The area from where the traces can be observed is reduced, however there are multiple footprints and it is presumed that there are more hidden.

Querulpa is very close to Toro Muerto, so being there is necessary the visit of both of the atractives. The visit has turned these two places into part of a circuit that should be forced by those who visit Arequipa.

We will have our lunch at the place named Punta Colorada Corire, where we’ll taste the rich river shrimp. After lunch we will return to Arequipa.
