ITINERARY

FIRST DAY

We’ll pick you up from your hotel between 06:00 and 06:30 hours to get into our transport and go to the deepest canyon in the world "COTAHUASI", in our journey we’ll observe the valley of Majes and rice planting, we can also appreciate the castle, formed by the erosion of the wind and at the same time the face of Christ, until the arrive to Chuquibamba.

We´ll make a stop of one hour for lunch, a few kilometers away we’ll appreciate the underground Inca road known as the door of Cusco, we’ll continue with the journey enjoying the landscape of the Andes.

Then we’ll pass through the Queñuales forest, one of the few that last in the south of Peru this forest is the home for a lot of species of flora and fauna that are currently in danger of extinction, kilometers above we’ll visit the Pallarcocha’s Lake at 4850 meters from this place we will appreciate the Coropuna snow peak with a height of 6425 meters above the level of the sea

We’ll surround the whole Coropuna mountain until we get to the bridge of the river at 4135 meters above sea level. Where we can appreciate the snow-capped peak of Solimana, Sara Sara and Firura at 4400 meters, this place is the limit between the district of Chuquibamba and the province of La Union, place where we can appreciate the vizcachas, we’ll continue the travel going to see the flora of this place, area of many pajonales. We’ll arrive at the viewpoint of Allhuay with 3950 m.a.s.l. Where we’ll see the canyon and the Cotahuasi Valley.

At 17:30 hours approximately we´’ll go to Cotahuasi at 2600 m.a.s.l. and we ‘ll go to the hotel.

SECOND DAY

COTAHUASI / JUDIOPAMPA / SIPIA / COLLOTA / TAURISMA / ALCA / CAHUANA / LUICHO / TOMEPAMPA / COTAHUASI

Breakfast at 07:30 in the morning

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we’ll get into the transport towards the deepest part of the Cotahuasi Canyon, on the trip we’ll see the Colcan and Piro countryside; in this journey we’ll see the great geological variety, reason why it’s very warm and very low above the sea level. We’ll have the experience of going through antiques hanging bridges, until we reach Judiopampa (1936 m.a.s.l.) there we’ll see cactaceous calumniares (weberbauecereus rahuii) that measure up to 13 meters of high, habitat of innumerable species of birds and hummingbirds besides bats.

After that, we’ll visit the waterfalls of Sipia with a fall of 150 meters, appreciating its three levels of water fall and its amazing rainbow, we’ll return to the town of Cotahuasi for lunch.

At 14:00 hours. We’ll visit the pre-Inca Collota city. We’ll also visit the town of Taurisma that has a Spanish church with paintings on the old walls and some trees that are thought to be the oldest in Peru planted by the ancient Spanic.

Then we’ll go to the town of Alca, place where we’ll interact with the local settlers to see their traditions typical costumes, and colonial streets. After that we’ll start a walk to the annex of Cahuaca where we’ll appreciate the main square, its church, the pre-Inca terraces, we’ll be given information about this millennial annex, then we’ll descend to reach the thermal baths Luicho to take a refreshing bath, here we can relax the muscles with water emanating from the subsoil.

We’ll return to Cotahuasi passing by the town of Tomepampa.

Dinner and overnight.

THIRD DAY

COTAHUASI / AREQUIPA

Breakfast at 07:00 in the morning

City tour at 07:30 in the morning in Cotahuasi

We´ll visit the hanging bridge of Chipito, known as the bridge of the disappointed, here we’ll see the crops like quiwicha and quinoa

Also we’ll be able to see the ChaquiCcocha’ Lake, where we can appreciate the variety of wild birds.

The places that we can’t visit on the way, will be visited on the return.

Lunch in Chuquibamba and return to Arequipa.
