COLCA 3D/2N MIXED: CONVENTIONAL TREKKING

FIRST DAY
AREQUIPA/ CHIVAY
After the pick up in the hotels we´ll ahead tp the Northeast of the Arequipa´s city , we´ll go out from the city passing by the Yura’ company, we´ll take the transoceanical highway útil arrive to the Quiscos viewpoint in Uyupampa, where we´ll make a Little stop t osee the valley, place where the arequipean onion and garlic comes from.
Continuing with the journey we´ll arrive to the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where we eill be able to see the flora and fauna of the place and at the same time take photos of the vicuñas, place where we will reach 4000 m.a.l.s. There we can taste the coca´s mate at Patahuasi where we will see the different rock formations made by strong winds, rains and erosion.
After that we´ll at the Chivay highway division and the long route, which we will take and then arrive at the Colca window, point where the colca valley truly begins. Then we will go through La Pulpera cheese factory (organic product produced by a cooperative) after that we will go to the caves of Mollepunku, doing a walk of approximately 30 minutes, there we will observe rock paintings, engraved on the walls of the cave with an antiquity of more than 5000 years. Continuing we will pass through the viewpoint of the enchanted castles that are giant cliffs of volcanic stones in the form of enormous columns or walls created by wind, rain and weather, then we will realize that we are already in Callalli to see its ceremonial center of Choqueshisha, in this place with three holes of water where you pay before the Holidays to the mother earth. The ladies have to pay there for being a female place or Paqarina “origin place” in the "ukhu pacha", land below, according to the Andean tradition. After that we will visit its church
Then we’ll go to Sibayo, also called Rumillacta, where the constructions are made of blocks of carved rock, mud and their roofs are made with the ichu or straw (stipa ichu), and in the classic design known as "Spanish checkerboard” there we’ll have a receipt from families, after a lapse we’ll continue with the tour to reach Chivay in approximately one hour.

SECOND DAY
CHIVAY/CRUZ DEL CONDOR/SANGALLE

We go out from the Chivay town early in the morning towards the Cruz del Condor, we´ll pass by the town of Yanque, there we´ll see the church considered one of the most beautiful in the Colca Valley, at the same time we can take photos with different alpacas, llamas and see the Wititi dance live.
Continuing with the tour we pass by the Achoma viewpoint, place where we´ll see the Valley terracing, after that we´ll pass by the town of Maca, we´ll go the Choquetico viewpoint, from where we´ll be able t osee the hanging tombs and the litomaqueta carved in Stone. Next we’ll visit the Antahuillque and Wayrapunku viewpoints.
In the Cruz del Condor we’ll have a prudential time of one hour to observe the flight of the condor and the depth of the Colca canyon. Then we´ll go down to the viewpoint of San Miguel and from where we´ll start our trek to sangalle, we´ll start our journey over 3280 m.a.l.s. after three and a half hours of walking we´ll arrive at San Juan de Chuccho 2,300 m.a.s.l., descending 1000 meters approximately, after lunch we´ll continue the walk for 1 hour and a half, until we reach Cosñihua (2,660 m.a.s.l.), here we’ll rest briefly, to continue the walk, until we reach the Sangalle Oasis (1,160 m.a.s.l.) where we’ll enjoy our free time and shower in a fresh 20ºC pool. After a rest we’ll have dinner and spend the night in bungalows.
THIRD DAY
SANGALLE/CABANACONDE/CHIVAY /AREQUIPA
We begin our walk for four hours towards the town of Cabanaconde, after have breakfast we´ll go out towards Chivay. In the return we´ll make Manny stops in different viewpoints such as Wayrapunku, t osee the end of the Valley an d the begin of the Colca Canyon. On the Antahuilque viewpoint tosee all the terracing of the Valley and the misterious lakes in the town of Maca, we also visit its church dedicated to Saint Ana of Maca, We´ll arrive to Chivay for lunch
After that, we´ll return to Arequipa, in approximately 30 minutes we´ll get to the highest point of the journey, the Patapampa volcanoes viewpoint at 4910 m.a.l.s.
Continuing with our retorn, we´ll pass by the crater of an extinct volcano named Chucura, we will arrive at the wetlands of Toccra there we’ll see alpacas, llamas and at the same time birds such as flamingos, wild ducks, guallatas, yanavicos and other species of birds. Then we’ll return directly to the city of Arequipa or to the city of Puno according to the itinerary.
